Can 360 alarm be programmed?

I just got my 04 360. Amazing car, but the alarm system is confusing to me. It doesn't seem very "smart". Specifically, I don't like the auto-arming feature. Is there a way to disable this feature? Sometimes the alarm system seems to be out of synch with what I think it should be doing. At times I think I am disarming it, but when I press the button it beeps once which means it is arming. Then I press it again and sometimes it beeps one time again. This probably has something to do with the auto-arming? In addition sometimes I can't open the doors from the inside with the handles. If I then arm/disarm the system it seems to go back to normal. Any tips? Maybe I'm the one that's not "smart", but the manual is basically useless IMO. Thanks.
