Just wondered if anyone had ever remapped or chipped their 308's in any way?

The Bosch K-jetronic fuel injection is primarily a mechanical system and cannot be "chipped" like a later Motronic true EFI. The separate Marelli ignition system has several replacement options with computerized mapping. There are many many threads on this, would recommend you do a search on 'electromotive' or electronic ignition 308'.

All that said, however, there is one firm in Germany, Lenz, that has an upgrade package that somehow integrates an electronic ignition and the existing K-jetronic. They've been around a long time as I first looked into their product 10 years ago. It does carry TUV certification in Germany allowing use on German registered cars, no mean feat of certification let me tell you.

Yes, you change the ignition system to Electromotive or others. As i recall in a previous discussion here, no one seemed to be able to just 'chip' a 308, these old italian boxes are not quite like modern versions we have in cars today. Besides, those Italian boxes are getting old and electronics do have a finite lifespan, i'd change the whole system if you want to 'chip' your car. many benefits to doing that, too :)
