    Hey Guys,

    I'm thinking of acquiring a 512BBi as a weekend toy/occasional play toy.

I sat in one a few years back and recall it was rather snug at best, and possibly not even feasible.

I don't have time to go sit in my buddy's car this weekend, so can anybody out there opine on whether or not I can even fit in the car???

Had to pass on an F40 5 years ago for precisely this reason!!! :-(

All help greatly appreciated! Best regards.

i am 6-4 and i fit in my car very well. the side shifter hits my thigh in 1st and reverse but that can be handled by adjusting the lever a la jtr's car...his adjustment was perfect..

i have long legs too...never felt uncomfy.

i think it might depend on your body shape, and your fitness.
i am only 6 ft, long legs and short torso. so i am not missing headroom, but i often wish the seat went about 2-3 inches further back.
you need to sit in one and see how to get comfortable, if at all.

I am 6'4" and I fit in my 512BB. However, when I first got it, it did seem a bit tight. Over time, I've adjusted and now it seems just fine. In reverse, the gear lever is right up against my knee, but fortunately I don't spend a lot of time driving in reverse.

The other time I notice it is when I have the headlights on high-- the stalk impinges on my space just a bit.

    Encouraging answers guys!!!!

I will go sit in my buddy's car again and see if I can get comfortable.

I'm feeling right now that the BBi's are a bit unloved relativfe to other options. I have a tough time believing my '73 Carrera RS is worth 2.5X a nice boxer.

Plus the boxer might look kind of sexy in my garage next to my 575M!!!!

    Thanks guys!!!

Boxer, F40 and Cobra all fit fine. I'm 6'3" and have a 36" inseam. I used to complain about these cars and one day I talked to a 6"8" ex NBA player that has owned them all, Cal Spyders, GTO, etc. He made it very clear, when they look that good you just get in and make it work.
Euro seats for the F40 make a world of difference.

I would honestly consult an interior/upholstery guy and see if they can move the seat rails back a smidge, or make new mounts or extend the current ones.
It may cost a few bucks, but if you can afford a 512 and the upkeep that comes with it, you can afford a seat extender of some sort to be more comfortable.

Totally agreed!!!! Luckily finding somebody in Orange County to do it shouldn't be too difficult.

Pete - get a Kirkham. They can drop the foot box. Plenty of room for us tall guys.
