try again, you are displaying misinformation and in conflict with the battery industry... can't get minutes ( time ) without knowing the Ah capacity :=), batteries are selected / graded by the Ah rating... how long the Ah last is up to the user and what his needs are for power... Ah is the total capacity of a battery, in the same way a fuel tank is on a car, how long it lasts is up to the driver and the ways he decides to drive
Where was the misinformation? He stated the definition of Reserve capacity absolutely correctly. RC is stated in minutes because the other factors are implied as part of the definition, ie 25 amps of current and a min voltage limit of 10.5 V. RC is a better definition than capacity in Amp/hours because it specifies the discharge rate.
For example. If a battery is rated at 100 minutes at a 25 amp discharge rate before it reaches 10.5, and it only delivers 90 minutes, then it is said to have 90% of it's capacity. That is reserve capacity. You don't really have to know the AH. This is all important to deep cycle batteries though, and is useless to starting batteries. The test them place the rated CCA load on the battery for 15 seconds. If it holds above 9.6 volts then it is said to be good.
I'll not respond any further. I'm reminded of some advice I got years ago, which is: Don't wrestle with pigs. Win or lose, you'll wind up covered in mud and pig ****. And what's more, the pigs like it.
So my battery is fully charged and I have taken it off the trickle charger for no other reason than the hope that that will get spring here sooner.
Ha. Every Sunday for the past year when I am done with my weekend driver, a 2010 California, I have put it on a trickle charger. Every Friday night or Saturday morning for the past year I have enjoyed turning on my car without a hitch. Piece of mind I suppose. Just got my car back from it's annual service and I was told my battery reading came in low so they recommended a change. Oh? Was told regardless that I trickle charged the battery religiously , it's 4 years old and is just due to be changed... Whatever... I still love the car.
