+1....I am totally with you Robert! I have a similar goal this spring myself.
your from north alabama ? kool. im from central al. close to the auburn area. WAR EAGLE!! lol. its great to we have some ferrari lovers in the state of alabama
When I sold my TR, the potential buyer showed up with his wife.... along with a box of doughnuts. The 2 of them went at least 300 pounds each. The TR has lots of room.... I thought. These two wedged themselves into the car and wanted to go for a drive. The weight capacity of a TR is 400 pounds (passengers and luggage), so I told the buyer that I needed to go with him. He could barely move in the car, but loved it anyway...... and bought it on the spot. I wonder whatever happened to them and the TR.... but I bet it needs some suspension work by now! To answer the OPs question.... go try one on and see if it fits. There is more room in the newer cars, but I would make a plan to drop 2-3 pounds/week until you get your car... not for the 'fit in the car' thing, but to insure that you are healthy.
it all depends on what seats are fitted ............im a big guy and i had no prob driving a 360 around
If she can I'm sure you can, keep the faith brother!! Just adding alittle humor thats all. Image Unavailable, Please Login
THAT'S how I'll get a 458: Visit the Ferrari dealer with my clothes stuffed with pillows and pretend I'm too fat to get out. . . Then they'll have to give it to me. . . Right?
You might want to stay away from the low-riding rear-engine models. I'm 5'-9", got up to around 230 mid last year. Hoisting my big ass in and out of the 308 was a little tricky, as were climbing stairs and mowing the yard. However, once in, it's a very roomy car and will carry bigger and taller guys than me comfortably. Now I'm down near 200 with 25 more to lose, but haven't had much opportunity to drive it lately...snow and ice have kept me off the road and unable to get an electrical problem resolved.
At my highest I weighed almost 300 lbs, and I'm 5'9. I carried most in the beer gut. I never had any troubles getting in and out of my 328.
i love the 328. it took the place of the 308 which was also a great ferrari. of course the strange thing is you see alot more 308 's riding around than you do 328's. back in the mid to late 80s the 328 ruled the streets of miami
I'm going to say Yes. I have weigh over 330lbs and I fit into vipers, vettes, some lambos and some ferrari's. I've managed to fit into a 308 with my body frame so it really depends on what exotic you wanna jump into. I do highly suggest getting on a weight loss diet before buying one of these cars.
Ive seen lots of big and/or tall guys in Ferraris; It doesn't seem to be an issue. I've seen some people having trouble with Lotuses, though. Also, there are plenty of F-car ppl in Northern AL a couple in southeast TN and Atlanta. Hey, send some of your weight my way. I need to gain a bit.
He's probably saying, "please get off, I'll let you sit in my Ferrari Image Unavailable, Please Login
yes ive also heard that about lotus. i like lotus but not a huge fan. i live an hour and a half from atlanta . ive been to the dealership there. i think they should make it bigger with more selections
I'm not a gigantic guy. 5'9" about 190. I wear a size 45 jacket. I find my 360 to be a bit snug in the bolsters, but certainly not painful. I think it takes some getting used to. having said that, when I drove a 575, I found that seat to be quite a bit more comfortable. I think some seat of the pants shopping is in order. Go to the nearest dealer, and tell then the first one you fit comfortably in is going home with you. I'm sure they'll be happy to let you sit in all of their cars. D
i know this site is for ferrari chat but i was wondering if a fatguy like myself can fit into a ford gt40 aswell ? im 5 foot 8 272 pounds
The issue on a Ford GT might more be getting out. I am 5'10 and about 180lbs and it doesn't feel especially spacious.
I can't think if anything that makes a better motivator to lose weight (not an easy task) than to fit comfortably in a Ferrari and know that you have worked hard enough to now have the means to obtain one! Go for it man! I would look at 550s and 575s - Don't know whether you want a manual or paddles but Cali's are pricey and paddle only and a bit tighter that a 550/575. Plus you end up with a 12-cylinder car and the joy of working the gated shifter and save a bunch on the purchase price and depreciation (to be offset by maintenance costs but....). You will also burn more calories with a manual! I highly recommend my diet - commonly known as the "Fat Dog Diet" - very simple - what do you do if you dog is fat? Move the dish away and walk him around the block. Same with people: Canned chicken+fruit+regular low impact cardio+wheat pasta and you will be sliding into whatever you want my friend! Good Luck - Post pics when you get the car - Cheers ;-)
I fit in my 360 Daytonas fine. The seats in the Cali on the showroom were uncomfortable. I think they were the standard seats. No diamond or Daytona pattern that I recognized.
I'm 6 ft 1 and 300 lbs. and I have had 2 430 spyders and currently a 458. The 430's were alittle tight but the 458 is no problem. I do have the sport seats.
I have witnessed a 300+ lber (probably closer to 400) racing a 275GTB. Wasn't pretty, but he could get in and out. Not in a hurry, though, and we were all wondering what would happen if he stuffed it, and it caught on fire... Actually, he did stuff his 360C, it did ignite and he did get out. Barely. CW
The original question which started this thread was "Can a Fat Ass fit in a Ferrari?" FWIIW, I'm 5 - 10 and my fat ass weighs 280 pounds. I have no difficulty at all getting into my 328 GTS, even with the lid on. Getting OUT, on the other hand, can sometimes be an adventure. JAF Life is good;; it's better if you are driving a Ferrari
Im 5 feet 7 298 pounds. Ive thought of buying a 458 italia but not sure it would be a comfortable ride because of my weight. Could i fit and would i have a big problem getting out
