...without the remote? I was reading Dane's unfortunate story this morning about his 308 being stolen and I got to wondering: aside from physically hauling the car onto a flatbed, can a modern Ferrari be started without the remote unlock? I'm not too familiar with the 308, so I don't know if it has a remote unlock, but I know I can't start my 355 without pressing the button on the remote then turning the key. Can thieves bypass this? Dane's experience has made me seriously think about putting a LoJack in the car, sooner rather than later.
Any vehicle can be stolen. All the anti-thief devices are there to act as deterrent and to prevent small time car thieves, but if a professional car thief really wants your car, believe me, he will have it.
Was not the Ferrari F50 stolen off the dealer lot evidence enough? If they want it that badly, they will get it.
Ferrari thefts don't even show up on the radar screen in the US. The vast majority of thefts are either for a joy ride or to sell the parts. Very little market for the parts compared to a Camry. Also every teenager knows how to steal a Camaro or a Toyota or even a Porsche and doesn't have a clue how to take a Ferrari. Since on the job training is very dangerous most just go with what they know.
Dude, you had that quip... plus an abuse appropriate pic, posted within 2 minutes of the original post. I now officially have a new Fchat idol.....
I'll tell ya what. If I hadn't learned you need to push the manual down to engage rear, I wouldn't be able to steal a Ferrari if I knew how to actually get it started.
When are you going to apologize now that your VIEWS on the Leland thread have been rebuffed? You keep dishin it out, but I've called you out, so either apologize or be seen for the pr*ck you really are, your choice.

It does not matter what kind of car it is...most of the professional theives have an inside line, a friend, or an associate in the know. What I mean by this is most of those guys know a technician or a mechanic that specializes in the cars that they target. Who knows these cars (or any car for that matter) better than the people that actually work-on/re-build/modify these cars? This information simply trickles down. In my younger years, I knew a guy in Houston that would actually go so far as to get the shop manuals for Mercedes, BMW, etc. and we all know what he used that information to do. If you are motivated, the "know how" can be obtained.
Never. Oh my....What to do...WHAT TO DO!!!! You are being seen for a lot more then a Prick so I have nothing to worry about
