I was wondering if the clutch on a Mondail 8 1982 can be adjusted? Since it is hydraulic I wasn't sure as my 308s are on cables but they can be adjusted. Thanks.

No. They self adjust through their life, and when the pedal bites high it's not long for this world.

Clutches are not very expensive if you shop wisely. I mostly rebuild mine (all parts) and save 50% of the already reasonable F-UK cost. I buy new release bearings though.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. I have changed them on 308s before; is there anything different on the Mondial? Thanks.

With the exception of the hydraulic actuation a clutch change on a mondy8 is identical to a 308gti, its also a good time to drop the whole engine gearbox combo (as the whole lot comes out as one piece) and do the belts and bearings, I've found its easier this way than working in the wheel well (also a good time to detail the suspension and engine bay)

err.. no.... ABSOLUTELY NOT. it's massive unnecessary job creation to drop the subframe on transverse Mondials

a clutch can be done in about 4 hrs on a Mondial 8/QV/3.2

and belts are a breeze in situ, as the fuel tank is not in the way like a 308/328.

In fact... clutch AND belts (only) can be done in one days (8-10 hrs) work if it's all otherwise healthy.

Both jobs can snowball of course (oil seals, flywheel grind etc etc)... but there is really never any need to remove subframe of a Mondial unless the engine needs to be stripped.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the info. I just finished the belts and tensioner bearings plus lots of other items. I am onto the clutch now. I am glad that the clutch is almost exactly the same. I will have to look at the hydraulic clutch and see how to disconnect the slave cylinder or its mechanism. Thanks Again.
