I replace the heater Valve with the equivalant saab Bosch electric motor and VW plastic valve recommended on my348.com. heater and AC work fine now, but every once in a while the E5 warning comes up. Does anyone have a suggested fix? Ive kept the OEM HCV motor and valve.

Try the simple thing first. Remove the center console panel and unplug the gang connector to the back of the climate control ECU, let it sit for about 60 seconds, then plug everything back together again. It may sound crazy, but it's worth a try. Good luck!

Miltonian- tried it. Tried replacing both the Heater motor and valve as well. Motor moves to one end when set to Hi, moves to other when set to LO. Nothing in-between.

Please help. I’ve read a lot of your tech tips to others, you sound very knowledgeable.

Im having fun working on the Ferrari, seems easy so far.

I resolved the E5 issue, I adjusted the temp at 72°, released the brass fitting that sits on the D stem, adjusted it to the middle, and locked it down. After doing so, I was able to control the Heater valve adjustment correctly. It took 2 trys…..noone suggested this to me, I just trialed it and it worked. The entire time I had an ohm meter hooked up to the motor and watched how adjusting the Temp effected the resistance.
