I have a 86TR that needs some repair work to the drivers side rear quarter panel. I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a good shop that can handle aluminum bodied cars? This isn't a concours car but I do want to get it done right. I'm in Roswell.

    Thanks -

Well, around these parts, the one guy everyone recommends is Bo Pirkle of Pirkle Body Shop in Tucker. Bo has done a lot of work on a lot of Ferraris, but just be forewarned: he takes his time. But if you're not in a hurry, give him a holler.

bo does good work. apparently he is very busy and takes a long time.

call noman at buckhead collision. 404-873-4071 he has a guy, bennett, that works out of both his shops (edgewood collision). imho, his work is better than bo's.

he did a 355tb that had significant front end damage. they also do all the cars from elite auto. last time i was up there they had a new phantom with qtr panel damage, a bentley spur getting a body kit installed, a new 430 spyder and some other high end stuff.

discloser : i am a long time customer (he used to own prestige auto in buckhead) and hence a friend.

Bo Pirkle(770.939.6982) is the only one I would ever let do paint and/or body work on any Ferrari I own. If you want a fast job, go to Maico...if you want the job done right, go to Bo...

Flashback Motorworks 770 781 8989 can do that repair. They really do great body work.

Thanks - It's always good to have a couple of options. I'm sure all of these guys do good work. I'll see who can take a look at the car in the next week or so and hopefully one of them will stand out as the best choice overall.

Yes that's mine... Hopefully it comes back this Saturday. Still waiting on the Driver Side tail lens from Rutlands. The first one they shipped me had a small crack in it. I haven't seen the car since I dropped it off. Did they have the purple flames on it yet? Just kidding - on Saturday that baby better be red.

Did you have them paint the whole car or just part of it?

Just the body panels. I had (4) estimates and everyone said the paint was matchable. Solid color, no metallic, minimal if any fade. I believe there was one area that they had to blend going up the piller behind the driver's side door. I'll let everyone know how the work turns out. Hopefully, I can recommend Buckhead Collision to the forum by Sunday.

We'll I picked my car on Thursday. The guys down at Buckhead Collision did a great job. They had the car a little longer than planned but the results are phenominal. The paint is a dead match. I can't tell the car has been touched. The repairs they did on the wheels turned our great too. I couldn't be happier with the work. They have my recommendation next time anyone asks.

FOA must have run out of reasons. i'm hearing that they are sending cars to a shop called Momentum, Maximum, Magnum Collision or something that sounds similiar. might want to put a call into levi to find out what the story is as i don't know those guys.
