Hey guys, what was the verdict in the end. I have just replaced my alternators but my battery still isn't holding charge - suspect it has been drained then jumped one time too many. What should I put in? Many thanks Ben

    Hello Ben,
I had the same problem. It took all day checking for current drain at the fuse box but we found it.
In my case the cause was the trunk light not shutting off when the lid was closed. Of course you can't see that it isn't shutting off.
The cause was that the steel bracket pushing on the switch plunger had yeilded over time and bent. I bent it back and, voila, no more drain.
I suspect the same can be true of the light for the engine.
Still, it is a good policy to keep the battery on a minder when the car is not in use.

Tried to squeeze a Group 65 but was just a tad oversized in width so it didn't fit into the tray, also rubbed against the underneath of the wiper motor mount.

I plan to go with lithium batteries for all my cars and motorcycles as they need new batteries.

    I would recommend a 12V battery ;)
