Ferrari website show it as a standard retrofit option https://www.ferrari.com/en-EN/auto/genuine/gtc4lusso/carplay but without p/n
I found some plug & play carplay upgrade kits online that add carplay to the Ferrari's factory head unit without cutting wires. I looked through the forum for a while, and there wasn't a lot of information available. To be honest, I was still skeptical and a bit hesitant. Overall, I'm more inclined towards this kit, but I'm still waiting for feedback from people who have purchased one. Already installed *********** kit, working fine. The installation was done by a professional and took less than 3hrs. After installation, wireless apple carplay worked as described. I love it.
I used both Music and Maps during my driving and both responded as I expected. There was no lag in getting directions. And the audio quality was great. It works well with my car, so far so good. I just ordered this kit for my GTC4Lusso. As you can see from the picture, the box says Portofino. I checked with the seller and their claim is they use the same head units so I have the right kit. I will post when it is installed to review if and how it works. It is troublesome to see posts about this product by users that have "Banned" under their names. Will report back when it is in the car. Thanks. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a few things to be done so I'm waiting on getting everything together so it can all be done at once. Maybe in another 2 weeks or so.
Hi guys. Not sure whether this will help but I have a 2011 Maserati QPS and my audio guy here in London, UK fitted Apple CarPlay seamlessly to the car’s OEM unit. You can’t see any changes to the original (now dated look) but it’s kinda cool to have CarPlay. I also upgraded the rather useless Bose sound system with the same guy and he added a dsp and an amp and some Morel Soeakers. Sounds good to me. I think the company that makes the kit is http://www.kaptrader.co.kr/ but impossible to get an answer out of. My audio guy deals with their equally unhelpful UK distributor. Elsewhere there is a chat about radios and the like and there is someone who is very knowledgeable. Hope this helps.
I just got my car back with the *********** module installed. Here are some screen shots of the factory display. Still playing around with it but it seems to work pretty well. It was not a simple install (I was charged about 10 hours of labor) as the directions are not well laid out but it seems to work well. I had other work done at the same time related to the audio system that I will also update shortly. Looks good. Visually similar to mine in my Maserati. If you want to change the icons around you can do so on your iPhones Settings ➡️ CarPlay ➡️ Customise.
