    My Cingular Blackberry is a GSM model and works most every where in the world.

    You pay roaming etc. but service has been uninterrupted wherever I travel.

    If you are going to live outside the US it will be cheaper to get local service.

    I live in Paris but a friend of mine is in NY atm and i wanted to know if i asked him to get a blackberry there , i could use it here . They are cheaper there than here. But he would be buying it without service of course.
