This may sound like a daft question but the 355 needs a wash and I haven't time to do it manually - zymol etc will happen soon I hope - but question is if I use high power jet wash, is there any damage I can do through the engine cover, side vents etc?

It's a car - what else would any normal person who can't be bothered with a bucket of water wash it with?

I believe a Jet wash/steam cleaner is the best thing to wash a car with. Give it a good rinse down with the jet wash being careful of the sensitive parts i.e. vents, painted plastic, window seals, radiator etc (also make sure the water not too hot). Then sponge the car down rinse again then chamois leather. Easy. I believe this is better then a bucket/hose wash as you don't soak the car with so much water.

No problem with doing the body with a jet wash.

I watched the Paris Dealer staff clean my 360 and a friend's 355 at the same time. All V8 Ferrari's up to 355 should not have their engine bay washed with a jet wash but 360/430's can.

The guy went on in French about reasons and electrics but I can't speak the lingo so just nodded.

Check for stone-chips 1st,and if there are any, particularly on plastic parts such as bumpers, DO NOT pressure wash those areas, you will make the chips MUCH larger!!!

Apart from that, you shouldn't have any problems.

It might be worth making sure the bits round the doors are nice and dry. They rusted on our 355! :(

stevef; Don't you look handsome, intelligent, studious, we could have a sculpture named after this work of art, like 'The Thinker' but differently worded. :p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p
