    I'm wanting opinions to see if I'm realistic in my quest. I'm looking for a 88 1/2 or newer TR (5 lug wheels) in red and tan with original paint. I would like the major service no older than 2.5 years and a good solid clutch. I can spend between 62k-64k. What do you think? I have been looking at several cars with really no luck. I live in Southern California.

    I think so. Those are out there. Most common color combo. Look nationally, let some people in the sales end that you would do business with know you are looking. They often know of cars that might be available but never get advertised also lots of the good cars go without ever getting advertised so you are really limiting yourself if you don't have 1 or more well connected people looking for you.

    Last but not least, be patient and wait for the right car.

    You're so right. It's not fun to wait, but I've done the alternative before when I bought my first f-car and been very unhappy with the result! Never again. I will wait... for the right car.

    We'll just need to find someone with a white TR to cruise with. Red, White and Blue, too cool!!
