I know the owner of that car, met him at out track day at Mosport last month, great guy.

I am now looking seriosly at the Mosler or a CGT.

Has anyone imported a Bentley Flying Spur from the US? These USD/CDN spreads are tightening to the point where it just plain makes sense.....

Mosler? No wayyy! I dont have enough words to describe the car, Ive seen Enzo and F40 on street and I was excited... but nothing like Mosler! Just seing one is so incredible that it made my whole last summer, the roar of the engine. I could hear it blocks away in dowtown, it was like a beast. All carbon fiber interior is just right, well the whole car is out of carbon fiber, it even had carbon dymag wheels which look perfect on it. I could talk endlessly how amazing it is, but Ill just stop now. Check out my pics from last year Bullrun, most of them are Mosler .

i brought up a continental convertible and it was a pain in the ass, a bumper change is required and Grand Touring wants $15000 grand or something stupid for a part that costs $758.I never paid the $15000 as long as the research is done before hand all you have to pay is the part and labor to have it installed.
The recall letter was easy along with the daytime running lights.
Also about two days after the car was delivered Grand Touring started telling people that they will no way whatsoever facilitate u.s cars, and believe me there was a flying spur that some guy tried to bring in him self with the help of the dealership and they let it sit there for something like 4 months my buddy was telling me.

Good story James, its experience like this that makes me think twice about importing a car from the US.

Of course, Grand Touring wants to cover their a$$es, because they don't want local clients running to the US to buy a car, instead of buying it from them. (Which is understandable).

Again, what kind of market are we in? Is this some sort of dealership communism??

James, obviously you must bring the Bentley to an authorized dealer (Grand Touring), but I ask, what rights do they have to withhold a car for 4 months, and charge triple labour on an imported version?

I actually never brought the car there, I ordered the part through them though, and R.I.V only requires that you have bills proving you bought the part from the dealer.
I guess they don't have the right to hold the car but if someone chooses to go through the dealer then they are going to be at their will, they can lie and say parts on back order and let it sit there for aslong as they want.
There were a couple of other tricks I had to use to get that particular car up here, but it was done and I actually spoke to my client the other day and couldn't be happier with it.

James, can a non-official dealership or mechanic bring a US car to RIV specs?

I know you need a letter of conformance from an official dealer, but can the adjustments be done without them?

What a pain in the ass...wow. If I decide I will call you James and hire you to do this.

In the mean time I am going to find out if I can bring a Mosler in.
