Quick questions for CS owners. Do any of you use an air impact gun to remove your titanium hex wheel bolts? It looks like I would use a standard 17mm hex socket? Of course I was planning on using a torque wrench to re-install. I like to pull my wheels off for detailing and an impact gun sure would make it easy to remove. I just want to make sure I'm not going to screw something up before I try? Looking for someone who has experience with this? Also, off hand can someone tell me what the proper torque setting is for the CS wheels? Thanks.

The proper torque setting in the owners' manual is:

    Pre-tighten to 26-29.5 lb.ft. (35-40Nm)
    Tighten to 74 lb.ft. (100Nm)

Unless someone has over tightened the bolts, you will be able to easily loosen them with a 18-24" breaker bar. I would never occur to me to use a air impact gun.......

17mm is the correct size. When I get new tires I allow the installer to use an air gun to remove the wheels but a torque wrench to re-install.

I think you are experiencing CSWS! It can only be cured by the purchase of another CS.

btw...... tq specs are correct! Per the owner's manual.

I use an impact to take them off...The key is using a GOOD 17 mm Allen. DO NOT use some crummy china crap. Spend the money, get a good quality Snap-on or Hazet . Then be super careful when removing it and make sure the tool is bottemed out in the bolt before you hit the trigger. The damage I have seen on the lug bolts has been from not doing this, and marred the inside edges.
Put them back on by hand though... You definately want to torque them by hand to the proper spec.
I dont need to tell you how expensive those little beauties are....

Thank you for the helpful information. Sounds like it is safe when done with care. I have to assume that dealers use impact guns when pulling off the wheels. I was just concerned with the titanium bolts. I do know how expensive they are. If anyone else uses the impact with their CS I would like to hear from you as well? It would be helpful to know if anyone has done something wrong and messed up the bolts? I would rather learn from other's mistakes.

I assume you received that nice 17mm tool that comes with the CS? It has something like a teflon finish which helps protect the lugs. I use the same tool for my Scud. I still use the air gun to remove and torque wrench to re-install.

I did get the special 17mm socket with the CS. I also just bought a 2nd stradale socket from Ferrari for $45. I did this because I was planning to keep this socket to use only with my impact air gun and then was cautioned that this is not an IMPACT socket. Are you saying that you use this OEM socket with the air gun with no problem?

How about breaking them loose with a pull bar.... shouldn't be too hard to do as the torque on them is pretty low, and then using a drill to back them out the rest of the way.

Not as fast as the impact gun but pretty low risk.
