Can i use standard lugs on CS wheels? Some peeps have told me i MUST use titanium lugs, but a dealer just told me they are not necessary (i could use my standard lugs). can anyone out there help me with a 100% correct answer, not just a guess? trying to get to the absolute correct answer on this...

You can use stock lugs. The Challenge wheels on other non-CS Ferraris use the normal lugs.

Both the wheel and the wheel bolts are completely different (CS vs. standard) and designed to compliment each other. Specifically, the mating surface angle which applies the wheel bolt torque force to the wheel is not the same on the CS wheel/wheel bolt and the standard wheel/wheel bolt. Using the standard wheel bolt on a CS wheel would yield a sub-optimal contact between the wheel bolt and wheel.

I have both standard and CS wheels and regulary swap between the two. when you have both wheel bolts in your hand, you'll quickly see how different the head angle is.

FWIW, my dealer flat out refuses to apply wheels with incorrect wheel bolts based on liability concerns.

thanks PCH, but that thread does not answer my question.

i understand a dealer may say you need titanium lugs so he can sell a set for $1,500...

but can i affix a set of CS wheels with the lugs off my Modular wheels?

my dealer says he sold 5 sets of CS wheels to 360 owners and never sold them any lugs...

the responses on this post contradict one another...

They will bolt on and work, however they are not really designed to be used in this combination, and the fact that the CS wheels can be bolt on with the std. hardware does not really make it *right*, the seat angle is a bit different and the materials are totally different resulting in a differential in torque value due to bolt stretch, and contact area.

The thread was only a starting point. If you do a search you'll find several threads on the subject. Bottom line. The standard bolts have been used however, they are not recommended as they will not seat properly to the Challenge wheel.
