I thought I was going to see the same shabby '88 they had there a few years ago. The picture doesn't look too bad on it. I went there once about 2 years ago; they had a lot of cars, but everything had a story and I wasn't very impressed with the quality of their inventory. One thing about them was they didn't seem like they were hiding anything about the cars... for example they're saying right upfront that this car needs a clutch. For the price it might be worth looking into, knowing in advance it will need major servicing.

If you buy anything from that place, I think the warranty ends after you drive it past the sidewalk.

That's fine so long as I don't buy a boat anchor.

I'm working up the costs for a clutch, major and a slush fund, so long as the car is solid and the interior isn't trashed, I'm interested.

All their cars are project cars no matter what they look like. I saw a 356 with fellow Ferrari owner Tom Yang and he was commenting on how it actually looked OK. He got a little closer and noticed that the turn signals were actually some sort of non-car electrical fixture with black electricians tape to hold it on! Plus under the car was a rust fest. At the same time I did see a one owner GTC for $69,000 there and a mid restoration 330GT for $25,000. Both cars went to Heritage Classics in LA where they cleaned up the GTC engine bay and priced it at 89,000 and sold off the 330 to Tom Shaunessey to part out.

Just assume every car needs a total disassembly and you will be OK. Actuality there is a book by a fellow that bought a Porsche 911 from them EXPECTING a total take apart restoration and even he was surprised at how mistreated the car was by previous owners.
