I crunched my front spoiler in a parking lot yesterday. The bracket that holds the spoiler in place broke off of the spoiler. Now there is a hole in the spoiler where it was attached, and it is hanging down a few inches. Can this be re-attached easily or do I have to buy a new spoiler. It is on the passenger side of the car, the rest of it is fine. Thanks a lot.

i'm sure you could make a strap type bracket to hold it back up
i don't think it would be too difficult

I just had mine off so I know what is going on in there. From your photo it looks like you separated the spoiler from one (or more) of the "L" brackets that are bonded into the fiber glass spoiler and which mount onto the square tubing framework that is behind the front bumper area. To repair you should remove the entire spoiler by removing all of the bottom panels, a row of screws which run along the rear of the spoiler, and the 4 bolts from the 4 "L" brackets that are located on each side of the spoiler. The fiber glass repair should be obvious and then it should just be a matter of reassembly.

    Good luck!

That's an easy fix...any body shop worth it's salt can fix that...then get it repainted.

Thanks for the replies. What do you think would be a fair price to have that fixed.

I was quoted $1100 from a local body shop. I thought that was very high. He said that was still much cheaper than buying a new one. He quoted 20 hours to do the job. I'm going to get a second opinion.

I bought a new one from ferrari parts exchange for $1500.00. It is easier if you have two people to install it. Took about 2-3 hours. P.S. NEVER let someone borrow your car. I learned my lesson.

Take the spoiler off and take it to a boat repair place for an estimate.

Sounds like you got the 'Ferrari Tax' on your estimate

I have a story for you......

Driving my car home from a birthday dinner, something causes the water pump belt in my 308 to melt and discintegrate yet again....stranding my girlfriend and I at a gas station. So, naturally, I called AAA for a flatbed. THREE HOURS LATER, AAA sends me a flatbed - and a rookie from the boondocks who hasn't towed many cars like mine before.

No big deal, I point to the tow point under my car - a hole in my spoiler where a tow hook 'eye' exists that mounts to the frame. He sees it, and proceeds to install a large tow hook to the 'eye' - my spoiler bottom is loose, since I just replaced the radiator and had not secured the bottom of the spoiler to the frame yet. Anyway, I climb in to steer the car up the flatbed while the guy reels in the cable up the ramp. As the car is pulled up the flatbed, something doesn't feel quite right.....a bending sound?

Seems the oversized hook decided to jump out of the 'eye' and attach itself to the spoiler hole, and flatbed-guy pulls my car along by the spoiler. The spoiler is not-at-all strong enough for this, and gets the CRAP bent out of it!!! Even the seams where the spoiler is attached to the quarter panels shows signs of separation, and there is some paint cracking there as well.....the bottom of the spoiler, the flat pan area, is so bulged out and low to the ground that it scrapes loudly under moderate braking.....

I failed to notice this at the time (black car, midnight, wanting to get the car into the garage, get home, etc.) that I probably don't have any recourse with the towing company and am probably going to have to eat the cost of repairing/replacing the spoiler......I'll take some pics next week.

    Hi Adam,
I recently had a complete repair done on my Mondial t spoiler with additional fiberglass material beefing up the INSIDE corners and leading edge. With the added thickness, a simple scrape doesn't create a hole. I just smooth the bottom and spray some flat black. Just like new:)
    Good luck, Hank
