Trying to replace bushing on steering rack. Looks like inner tierod is pinned with punch. Anyone have a good technique for removing the pin? Thank you for any feedback.

The ones I did I just unscrewed the tie-rod and the pin sheared out easily. Put a new pin when reinstall.

I don't recall that being pinned, just staked into a recess. Are you sure there's a pin there?

This is a useful tutorial- apparently the Pantera used the same rack

There were different designs regarding the inner tie rod. The earlier ones are those, where the nuts/end caps are staked into a recess, the later ones are pinned.
When I did mine I exactly did, what Claude (godabitibi) described.
Except that I drilled a hole into the pin to weaken it.
I would recommend to purchase the proper wrenches instead of maltreating the end cap and counternut.
    'Pin-wrench 22-35mm'.

    Nino,
you should move your picture from your 2nd thread about this topic.
Below there's mine, which basically shows the same design.

Same rack to the end of the rack itself, the inner tie-rods on the Pantera are larger. But the Pantera bushing sold by vendors work on the 308.

Thank you for the replies. I drilled the pin out.
