    Absolutely. I lived in the DC metro area several years and drivers suck big time, had many close calls.

    I was driving a buddy's 911 (with a stick, which I'm not used to) during the traffic debacle immediately post earthquake. It's decidedly possible.

    I commute in NOVA every day. It is amazing that i haven't totaled my car yet. Nearly got killed 5 times the other day..

    I thought driving was horrendous in Rome (italy, not NY), then someone told me about Sao Paolo (Brazil).

    Theyre everywhere.

    beltway bad, very bad. horrifyingly bad. in town red light runners are deadly. be afraid, be very afraid.

    Yes.

    After living in the DC Metro area for 3 years, and after several trips driving up to NYC...

    I can say that driving around Manhattan is relaxing compared to driving around DC.

    DC Metro drivers are a joke. Pure and simple. Period.

    The DMV's ought to be shut down. ANY incompetent moron can get a license, apparently, in the DC region.

    Seriously. They are awful.
