I would say 80% of people who complain about the rule don't even take the time to understand it. They whine about being told they can't discuss something, when that's patently false. The other 20% are just a-holes who don't care and seem to go out of their way to spoil results for everyone. And regardless of how many understand the actual rule, 95% seem to not understand (or choose to be willfully ignorant of the fact) that the titles they post in this forum show up on the homepage, so an f-chatter trying to avoid the F1 forum may still see a spoiler result because that thread will be shown on the homepage immediately when they come to the site, before they even delve into the F1 forum.
If a person has time to come on here but yet has not watched the race which he should have recorded on his tvo or any multitude of electronic gadgets out there now, then he must be a moron. Its very simple. If you dont want to see something, then dont look. But then todays world caters to morons thus creating more of them.
+1 I've noticed a trend toward "write only" posting - It seems reading (with any level of understanding at least) is beyond these clowns. Unbelievable!
I dont think it helpful to call those with opposing ideas insulting names. I try to remain nuetral and open on the subject.
Man, I USED to think I had a pretty nice life...great wife, beautiful little girl...but this thread has made me realize that my life sucks, and no amount of frosting can fix it. How did I come to this conclusion, you ask? Simple, clearly there are folks on here who's lives are so amazingly perfect that the ONLY thing they have to worry about is spoilers in thread titles. Wow, I wish I had that life. Jimmy On the other hand, why don't you anti-spoiler guys STFU and do something useful with your time and you can start by not calling people morons, idiots, etc over something that surely ranks as the most inane topic in several years here.
Oh, how I wish that were true. But anyway, seems to me your timing is really bad - Rob's asking for opinions on changing the site to accommodate your "name callers". I, personally, would hate for that to happen and therefore feel the need to try and explain, again, the position. Although, I did post way back that my solution whenever this debate flares up would be to lock the thread and point to the rules - Save us all a lot of time! Cheers, Ian
Believe it or not, some people visit here even when they are airborne, abroad, Interstate, away from Live/Delayed coverage, DVR, as the meaning of the term "TGIF" is a distant memory as is wearing fuzzy Ferrari slippers and/or Ferrari boxers and/or Ferrari wifebeater whilst lounging during Weekend at Bernie's as they are otherwise busier than *Me* and *You* both. Sad, but true.
Ian, I saw the poll after I posted in this thread, I voted accordingly (change nothing). I agree with your time saving thought, lock the thread and point to the rules. Jimmy
