VERY common scam on eBay - the "please email me before you bid" scam, where
they will offer a car at a STUPID LOW price and try to get you to wire the money
to them outside of eBay.

It will be pulled VERY soon. A year ago there was a GLUT of such ads until they
got wise and started pulling them the second they came up.

DON'T CONTACT HIM, in case you're thinking of it....

The easiest way to find out if it is a scam, is to ask for a phone number so you can discuss the details.

They will never give you a phone number.

I don't know why, but I suspect that you will figure out something if they give you a Nigerian phone number!

 

Didn't someone around here buy a 328 a few years back for near nothing on ebay and it was for real?

Lots of us were kicking ourselves over that for the longest

its a total Scam, Thats BS , they make a page it looks like Ebay, but its not, you lose your money and never get the car or here from them again, the bad thing is some people fall for it thinking , yeah I will use the Ebay protection plan , This guy deserves to be _________________________ ( fill in the blank )

Dr., I agree, it's a trick.

It might be a real car, but there are several issues:
1. the car is in Croatia (shipping cost: $180,000US!!!).
2. the price is unreasonably low for the quality
3. scams like this have a long history (I'm almost surprised the car isn't in Nigeria...more like buying a Russian bride, I guess)

PS. tried to see more info on ebay...discontinued listing.

BTW, Dr., what was the price on that legit 328? I actually bought one for a low price from ebay as well (27.5K). I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I don't mean any offence by this but that statement is very appropriate. All you are accomplishing by going on with this guy is substantiating his scam. This scams are a dime a dozen.

 

Noooooooooo! Don't stop! This is way too much fun! The tracheotomy must have also affected his ability to type in proper english. Try to talk him down in price or tell him you want to fly to Serbia and meet his wonderful family and help him recover from all his misfortune.
