I will vacation soon to Italy and would like to visit Maranello and Fiorano. Can you tell which Ferrari installations I will be able to see and/or visit?

I have known Gilles Villeneuve personally during his snowmobile racing years and for sure I want to see Via Gilles Villeneuve.

I do not own a Ferrari, I have owned Porsches for the last 29 years . Even if I am a Porsche guy I have lots of respect for Ferrari and would really like to spend a few hours around their facilities. Any advice will be appreciated.

Do a search here on factory tour and/or maranello - also look at the ferrariworld site - you won't get a factory tour but you can look over the fence at Fiorano and buy merchandise and visit the Galleria

Oly a Ferrari dealer can set up the tour, but since you aren't an owner, that probably isn't going to happen, unless you've got connections. If you want to see the factory, I suggest you get reservations at the lovely Planet Hotel, which is across the street from the factory. It isn't a 4 star, but adequate. There are plenty of decent restraunts around, so the food will be good. Enjoy the visit. You can use the search function for more detail on your trip.

Book a room at the planet hotel, go the Galleria ( a great museum) , eat at the Montoya (the F 1 teams have always frequented this place) and Cavillino restaurant (Ferrari owned and excellent food, right across from the Planet hotel and the employee / main entrance to the factory), peer through the fence at Fiorano there are 2 excellent spots to do this, visit all the memorabilia shops around the hotel (I could have spent about 15k on models), give your self 2 days, if you don't have any formal tours events scheduled the town is very industrial and it gets a bit boring after 2 days.

Has anyone done a drive tour in Italy with a Ferrari? I was just sent some great material by a company that does this-luxurycartours.com. They have a trip coming up in Oct, 2008 escorted by racing legend Bill Adam that takes you to a track near Rome for a personal track experience. Trip looks great with outstanding luxury hotels and experience. I saw this on Ferrariportal and in Cavallino Magazine.

If you do go to Cavallino restaurant buy a bottle of their Balsamic Vinegar, that's if you like aged Balsamic.

For even better Balsamic vinegar (Consortium Produced) there is a small producer of Balsamic vinegar near Montanas, your concierge at the hotel may be able to arrainge a tour.

Montana's has excellent food and is a fun place to dine

You have to call FNA and make arrangement with them, and show proof of ownership. Once they OK it then they will contact

Ferrari in Maranello saying that you qualified for the tour. They will give an option as far as date is concern then you will recieve

a formal letter from FNA congratulating you that you have been approved. Good luck and have fun.:)

Just in case they don't tell you, you're allowed to bring two extra guest but has to be at least 16 years og age,

and no camera or video allowed inside the factory:(
