In cantonese, it's pronounced "Fuh"-"Lah"-"Lay". The "Fuh" is used in the chinese word for "France", and the "Lah" means "pull" in chinese. It's a purely phonetic translation.

More accurately though, it's pronounced "fat-lai-lay".

My mistake, it's "Fat-Lah-Lay". Guess I mixed up my Cantonese and Mandarin again...

It's strictly phonetic? Darn, I was hoping the characters represented something cool. So do the characters even mean anything interesting? Something related to fast cars or prancing horses maybe? :)

    Thanks.

    Yup, western names are phonetic.

Mandarin Chinese pronounciation would be the closest approximation.

Ken, don't put these letters as your tattoo!

There is Kanji for Prancing Horse in 2 letters. I just don't know how to put them down here though.
