I was wondering if it was possible to reboot the car's computer system? I wanted to reset the system bec I think that is the source of my problems.

Can't you do that by using the power off switch that disconnects the battery? I know you can do that with a 360/430.

The California is like 99% of European made cars in that it operates many seperate computers that are all linked on a CAN bus

Tgere is a seperate control unit for the gearbox made by getrag and the suspension ecu is made by Delphi

It has twin engine ECU's made by Bosch

The ECU's above have the ability to remember previous "issues" even if power is removed from them

I'm not sure the real name for the ECU that stuffs up on my car where the instruments "freeze" but I know after removing the quick release battery terminal it DOES reset the trip computer

I was in Italy with the car 200 miles from a dealer when the car froze and wouldn't restart

I released the battery terminal lead and it started first time

On the other hand, when I have roof troubles the terminal release does not reset whatever causes the warning buzzer and visual warning to be present

I know it does not remove any trouble codes in the engine ECU's either

So don't consider the battery lead removal a "master reset" for every system on the car

But it is the first thing to try for some of the problems

But unfortunately for you, I don't find it helpful at all for when my car had electrical roof issues
