OK, since I can't wait until the OPUS F1 Book comes out in 2007, can any of you guys recommend a great F1 "coffee table" book.

Looking for one that talks about the history, perhaps some trivia, and the most up to date if possible.

Just wanted opinions on what books people thought were the best pertaining to not necessarily ferrari F1 but F1 in general.

Any of the books by Schlegelmilch & Lehbrink on either Ferrari, Ferrari F1 and F1 in general. Fantastic photography & text, can't go wrong. Theres also an "encyclopedia" called Formula One by Tremayne & Hughes that's good as well.

Great book, and indepth look inside of the F2000 Ferrari Formula 1 car. Amazing photography, CAD drawings, and aero schematics.

I like 'Formula Ferrari 1948 - 2002' by Paolo D'alessio. 500+ pages; informative (not a boring race by race review, but concise technical descriptions); stacks of photos; detail drawings; and was 'on sale' recently.

I like to read "The Complete History of Grand Prix Motor Racing" by Adriano Cimarosti. $50.00, Aurum Press London.

Coffee table size, 500pgs. He goes through EVERY race year by year from 1894 - 1997. Not very up to date but very detailed analysis of events, technology, people and statistics. Lots of pictures and autographs of major players.

Cimarosti is an author I enjoy reading. I also have the "History of the Carrera Panamericana 1950-54" by him.

Tell us what you ended up with...

I ended up picking up the book 55 years of formujla one. Edited by Bruce Jones. It originally came out in 1999 but was updated in 2005 to include through the 2004 season.
