A friend recommended Gran Touring Classics in Long Beach for my coolant hoses and alternator repair on my 246.
Have people had good experiences there?

Hi Jim, I know Norbert from Gran Touring, he seems to be a great guy and know his stuff but before you call him my first suggestion to you is Joe at Concours Automotive. Joe is an excellet Ferrari technician as he has worked on my 308 with excellent results. From what I've heard from other client of Councours, Joe happens to specialize on 308/Dino models. Give him a call first tell him I recommended him to you. his number is 562-697-4188 or call me if you like.

I had some work done once on a later model car with him. Never went back as later stuff isn't really his thing nor was I totally thrilled. He knows his stuff, likes things his way and a little pricey. I'd call around a bit on that and try to get some estimates and time frames. If it isn't urgent it wouldn't hurt to visit shops first and get more of a first hand feel. The guy works on some really pricey stuff so he is trusted for sure.(I think he was the one that brought the Zagato double bubble to C&C for example)

Norbert is a good guy, knows his stuff, is honest, explains everything he does and will help you even if you are not a regular. He's worked on a few of my cars and has helped me locate rare parts I've needed.

If you are replacing the water hoses that go thru the body, be prepared.

The task is an time consuming, UGLY, non gratifying job.

Norbert is qualified, professional and will charge what is the job involves.

    Good luck!
