Can You Take Headlights Apart Without Damaging

    I have a 599GTB 2007. The GTO's and some GTB's have better color combo inside the light housing. Instead of that faded ugly silverish inside the plastic housing, I'd like to paint all that a matte black which really makes the lights pop especially since my 599 has been chrome deleted inside and out. Does anyone have actual experience in this.

    PLEASE DON'T RESPOND if you've heard, just like all of us, to never open up the light housing. You can do this. I just want to find someone I can hire or who can show me how to do mine.

    Not sure about this model or Ferraris in general, but on a previous car I owned I took mine apart to clean/polish. It involved putting the lights in the oven (low temp for a bit) to heat up the glue and then the parts could be separated and opened.

    I took my 360 head lights apart painted and buffed the lens, used a heat gun.

    While I'm unsure of if the 599 headlights are a similar design, I did a write up on the 360 called 360 headlight rebuild. You may find some useful info there.

    Search around for yt vids "joey mod"

    You're not likely to find a lot of Ferrari specific videos, but 90% of the headlights on the market are built by Valeo, Marelli or Hella, the construction style and adhesives are similar, just a bit more expensive if it doesn't go well.
