Ok so I just found out about his really cool program called Google Earth a few days ago. For those of you who dont know, it is basically a satelite image program where you can go anywhere in the world and view an image previously taken by a satelite. I find it very interesting to follow roads i take everyday. As well as finding different Ferrari dealerships. it makes a fun game if you only use the directions to get there and having to find the place form above is quite difficult sometimes. Anyway i was looking at the factory in maranello and found lots of "blue things" all around maranello. anyone have a clue waht they would be? I asked my dad and he thinks maybe they are cars, but there are tos and tons of them. Ill try posting some pics of them. Anyone have a guess what they would be?

that is what i was thinking but then i looked at one of the ports in the US at the same altitude and the ones in our ports are much more distinguishable. I was at about 700 feet and the containers in our port are very easy to recognize. Quite puzzling. Thanks for the better pictures Mark.

As a former photo analysis tech of SR-71 photographs I can tell you with certain...... :D Just kidding.

Whatever they are, they are stacked high. Look at the length of the shadow they cast. The shadow lenghts are staggared, while the shortest shadow depicts the actual size of the item stacked. It is my best guess that these are either storage/shipping containers that are short, or shrink wrapped crates. All of which can be transported via trailer of a frieght truck.

Hmmmm..... Interesting idea..... you could smoke out Ferrari employee(s) because they would pipe in right away and know what it is (or isn't) :D

That's what I was noticing too...... I'm going with RacerX's guess of shrink wrapped shipping crates which would all be "X" wide but could be variable lengths.

The area is the heart of the ceramics industry in Italy. If you go there during the annual ceramics industry trade show you can't get a hotel room for many miles in any direction. Could they be containers or other items used in the manufacture or shipping of ceramics? Those companies dot the entire region. My pool even has tile from Maranello.

hey we could always have each person add a $1 to a fund and a couple people could fly over to Italy and check it out. that way we dont have to bug manuma. I volunteer for the first spot! :D Who else wants to go?

That's the smurf camp. If there are strikes plaguing F SpA, they're ready to scab. Or else containers of unsold 612's ready to ship to China/USSR. Actually , they really are likely containers for China/USSR shipments.

It has nothing to do with Ferrari.
These are the ceramic factories at the otherside of Maranello.
