You could predict purple monkeys would fall from my celing tiles, but they won't. I predict that a 20 year old car will continue to kick the rear-end of anything GM produces for quite some time yet. <aack, monkies!>
500hp/~2900lbs is a formidable combination. The current Z06 has already proven that it handles and brakes well(not after repeated stops though). What are the performance stats on the F40 again? High 11's@125mph? .96G? Seems pretty close.
Who cares if it is quicker. What would you want, an F40 or a 'Vette? If it means that much to you get the F40LM
600 hp in a small block chev is do-able. In fact it has been done many times. Just go to your local magazine shop and have a look at the hot rod magazines. They show you how to build one. Whether or not it's reliable and street worthy is another story altogether. Overhead cam engines are a very good desigin, as is a push rod engine. But over head cam engine's are much more accuarte when it comes to valve timing and consistancy. Push rods engines have too many moving parts in the valve train to be really pushed to the limits like and ohc engine and remain reliable.
