Weather is nice overall and should make for a FAST exciting race! http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/l/CAXX0301:1:CA Talking points: Questions Ahead Of Canadian GP Will the tokens help Mclaren and Ferrari/Can Williams show-up to be a factor>? -Qualy- LH Vettel Nico -Race- Vettel Kimi LH Same tires as Monaco but this place is about the brakes. Who will get a good break on them etc. No matter this is one of the best every year. I envy the Fchat members who will attend!
I'm hoping the breaks on the Benzes will turn to dust and Vettel wins this thing. Wishful thinking? You bet.
Merc is being a little elusive in the press..."worrying" about Ferrari's improvements but not making any moves themselves. I think the Scuderia will have done enough to split the Mercs, but still not the car's equal: Ham Vet Ros
I will again predict that Mercedes finally has mechanical issues (like their brakes in Canada last year) and Ferrari takes a 1-2 by Vettel/Raikkonen, aided by a monster qualifying from Kimi!! Bottas adds to the Finish podium in 3rd! A guy can dream can't he?
Canada is always an interesting race, and there is almost always a safety car deployment... but I think the pressure is on Mercedes, particularly on Lewis's side of the garage. 1. Lewis 2. Nico 3. Seb
I want some of what you are having Last year Rosberg seemed strong at Canada. I wouldn't mind if it got a bit closer between the two, maybe with a Ferrari at the center of the podium. It's Kimi's turn, isn't it?
This has got Vettel written all over it. Merc will quali fast, but I fancy the Ferrari to storm through with better tyre management and touch more hp. Quali - Ham, Ros, Vet Race - Vet, Ham, Kimi
Ferrari had excellent top end speed in Bahrain and Malaysia. Now with more power, hopefully they can qualify pole. Vettel Kimi Bottas Massa Ros Ham (both the mercs with brake management issues) Perez Hulk Gro But Alo Renaults not a chance here I reckon.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Mercedes only have brake problems last year because their regen stopped working?
Lewis wins unless Ferrari have made major gains. Given their his tif upgrades for Spain didn't even work, I don't think this change will render much of an improvement (even though it's using tokens).
Canadian Grand Prix preview - Ferrari looks to shift balance of power in Montreal Nice preview with an ample focus on the power units in detail and how they will work in Montreal.
I believe you are correct...it was the MGU-h unit that failed which led to brake issues/failure iirc.
