Uh O! Stereotypes? LA Fun? Don't you mean, "pulled from your car and beaten by most of the city, who shoot up 12 times a day".

The Airforce and Army may not be as big as yours and we may not have as many ships. But when the goin' gets tough we're right were the action is. We also may not jump when the Americans want to tussle every 5 seconds, but hey they have the resources for that.

P.S. We still burned down your White House and cruddy statues!

Uh...not to blow "international relations", but unfortunately, the Canadian military has been reduced to a "shell" of it's former self...and it only took the last 15 or so years...

There is little left...heck the BC Ferries service has more ships than the Canadian Navy! A shame, as the Canadian military has a glorious past...

I think the Canadian gov't has taken advantage of their close neighbor, and figure they can bank the savings of a reduced military (note I am blaming politicians, not the Canadian people over this....)

I took those last Thursday the 5th. We went sailing through the harbor, since our friends sail boat is moored at the Bedford Basin Yacht Club. I arrived in NS on Monday the 2nd, we went to Lunenberg on Tuesday the 3rd to see some of the Tall Ships. Where in NS are you?

    You know what's sad?

If you were of Middle Eastern descent you'd probably get arrested for taking those pictures.

The Halifax was pulling out of slip and blew its horns at us, it came out 20ft ahead of us. Then the cops came up behind us telling us to move away from the Navy Docks, since you have to be 100 meters away, we were maybe 2 meters away.

Remember, 9/11 was also the largest terrorism strike against Canadians too. (About 200 I think)

It is also nice to see what a country can do when it does not have to pay for its own defense.

Our military is a joke. Thise subs that are in the picture were bought from the Brits. For 900 million we got desiel electric subs that leaked more water then they displaced. Those subs (i don't think) have not seen any duty since the government "invested" in them. There have been serious saftey issues with them. The cost to repair and refit has been huge. Heck we probbably could have bought a nuclear sub or 3 with the money so far spent fixing these antiques. The ships in the pictures are also very old hardwear. But they have been fitted with very high technology, which is a plus.

Our military has been flying around in helicopters that need 2 days worth of maintenance for every 3 hours in the air(if they can stay in the air for that long). I think it is discraseful. Oh we have found a replacement helicopter...one that has never been used for military use in ANY country and more then likely was never designed to do so.

Heck our soldiers that servred in Afganastan has to were green camo uniforms in a brown desert!! How dumb is that? Meanwhile we have the money to blow 200million dollars to make Qubec feel better about themselves, and blow almost 2 billion dollars on a gun registry that is on the verge of being scrapped. This is why Canada does not have a military.

IMHO, the reason Canada "does not have a military" is that the USA does.

IMHO, the reason USA "does not have a heath care system" is that Canada does. Hundreds of years ago, {even now}, force was what made countries great. The world must change. You guys need a force that big, we don't. Think about it. Sell me a tank, then try to take it away. Think about it. Allies with a country that is at war, with another country. Think about it. Yeah the American government rocks when it comes to killin' stuff. Even if they have to mislead their citizens to get their rocks off. If anything we are in danger because we are so close to you. Think about it.
