Today I visited the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Museum in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Always wanted to visit it, as we pass by it going to and from our yearly summer fly-in fishing vacations out of the small northern Ontario town of Hornepayne.

Bush flying whether on floats, skis, or tundra tires was featured. Also the history of the Ontario Provincial Air Service (OPAS) fighting wildfires. Good stuff - history of float planes. A 1918 Liberty 12 cylinder water-cooled engine (made by Ford Motor Company) w/a wooden prop on display (this engine also used in tanks WWI).

So just a few pics......... love the Beavers and Otters

I didn't know that place existed. Looks like a good museum to visit.

Too bad Sault Ste. Marie is so out of the way. I suppose even Canadians driving between Toronto and western Canada find it quicker to go through the U.S.
