Just noticed that it is being broadcast by FOX on Sunday, 10AM PST! The practice and qualifying is being broadcast from Speed. Hmmm.... One can only hope!

They may upscale it, but I doubt it.

To be HD, it must be shot with HD cameras, trasmitted in HD and broadcast to the consumer in HD, who is watching with an HD set.

As far as I know, Bernie's company has the contract to do the filming and I don't believe they are using HD cameras.

On a plus note, later this year DirecTV is turning on their new satellite and it will give 10 or 20 new HD channels, one of which is Speed. So Speed will be HD on DirecTV within a few months. Only problem is I believe most of the content is still standard definition, so stuff like F1 in HD will probably be like someone taking an old 8-track tape and dubbing it to CD.
