Just about an hour to the beginning of the weekend's activities. This circuit certainly provides much challenge - slow corners, quick corners, long straights, heavy breaking, low drag, low-> medium downforce, definite break wear -> heavy use on rear tires, engines running full throttle 65% of the time.

Add to that the new aero spec and seamless shifitng for STR, Lewis desiring his first win this weekend (as he said, there's opportunity for passing here), Ferrari saying they are back on track, Renault preforming somewhat better, Williams and BMW making better their appearances and other plethora of things, this should be a good one.

As we all know, practice is just that but it becomes competitive when circuit timing comes into play. Hoping for two good practice sessions today. (Ya'll carry on for this first one - I made an appointment to get more red highlights on my blonde hair at the start time of the first practice session - what was I thinking?!?!)

i'm really looking forward to this race!! after all the excuse making in Monaco, i'm all too happy to see them race in a place that as Carol says "This circuit certainly provides much challenge - slow corners, quick corners, long straights, heavy breaking, low drag, low-> medium downforce, definite break wear -> heavy use on rear tires, engines running full throttle 65% of the time."

there's room for passing and good racing! it'd be nice to see a Ferrari 1-2, and a Hamilton 3rd......I'm hoping to see big things from LH!

    Speed went back and forth.

I'm probably the last person here to defend Speed, but he is showing some improvements recently. Would be nice to see him do well on North American soil.

Interesting how both Ferraris were close in Sector 1, yet they flip flopped in a basically similar car in Sectors 2 and 3.

I am impressed with Speed's improving form over the last couple races. He certainly appears to have Liuzzi's number, for whatever that's worth.
