I propose a Ferrari owner/supporter Brunch at "The Grape" in the Summit shopping center here in Birmingham to watch the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday, June 25, 2006.

They have a reasonably good size flat screen TV and have agreed to let us commandeer it for the race, and seat us where we can watch it together.

Coverage starts at 11:30 AM Birmingham time as I recall, but you might double check.

"The Grape" website is www.yourgrape.com if you want to check the place out or need directions.

There will be plenty of safe parking away from the shopping areas on a Sunday noontime, so bring the cars - just lay off the vino if you're driving.

Please respond if you're able to make it so I can let them know about how many to expect. Look forward to seeing you there.

    Roy

    Ok, I'm in.

    Anyone bringing their wife?

Where is this place exactly in the Summit. I could not find it on the web site (which is probably my fault).

Left side or right as you enter from the highway?

    Drew

As you come into the Summit from Highway 280, take the first left, then turn left at the next intersection - Coldwater Creek is on that corner, and go to the very end.

My wife is going to be with me.

Look forward to seeing you. Roy

If you guys can get any of your wives to come, Kelly and I will make it down, we will be visiting her parents in Arab, so she will already be with me, I don't think sitting around with a bunch of dudes is her idea of fun ;)

Of course shopping starts at 12 and that is her idea of fun,
so count of us in :)

My wife (Diana) will be there and she can easily be distracted from important Ferrari business to shop indescriminantly for our 12 week old grandson. I'm sure your wife will have company if she wants it. - Roy

It is the National MGB Registry. No Ferraris.

A couple of months ago I was given a beautiful little 1974 MGB (chrome bumpers) by the ORIGINAL owner. No kidding. She bought it brand new in Dec 74 when she was 18. I have all the paper work including the window sticker and the first services, tire warranty, everything. I even have a little book the dates every single time she put gas in it and changed the oil. It goes all the way back to when I was in 1st grade. How many of those are still left out there?
It's too much of a treasure not to show off.

I can bring it but it is really no big deal. It's not concours, just a nice little single owner B. The folks it belonged to were docs at UAB. They hired me when I was in 12th grade to help out around their lab. She is an anesthesiologist and he's a biochemist. Their lab studied oxygen free radicals and it was my first break into science. I stayed with them thru dental school. They just left UAB and moved to Pitt. There was just no more room for that little car anymore so they gave it to me. She just wanted someone to have it that would take care of it.

As far as little 4 banger sport conv. go I am an Alfa guy. I never really paid MG's much attention, even the Midget that my mom used to have. But I really like this car. It's not as loud and stiff as my Alfa which is nice. I am not quite used to driving a car with carbs, though.

Roy, you picked a great location. I have been to the Summit hundreds of times but I had never been out that wing of the complex. It is at the end of a row of shops, very little traffic, so the cars will be safe and it has a nice view of the valley.

Thanks Branko, I'm curious to see how it works out - the place is really the antithesis of a Sports Bar - no 99 cent Bud Lites here my friend. My Italian friend - Marco - who normally works there, is off this Sunday but will be there to watch the race with us. He's a genuine tifoso.

Look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.
