Here is HIS post. "EFN - believe it or not, I own the Black Countach that was in the first Cannonball Run film. The one that Adrienne Barbeau and her "twins" drove in. It's built on a Chevy chasis and I have it in storage. I took it as a partial payment for a film deal I made with the producer of the movie, Al Ruddy, who also made The Godfather and Million Dollar Baby." And here is the link to the thread. http://www.ffcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=209571&highlight=cannonball He got really offended when I questioned it. In his original post, he says that he has THE black Countach. And in his later reply, he says that he has ONE OF the cars. Seems fishy... Ron
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! those photos!!! i will definitely be buying some prints when they are released! and if you get the high-res ones, please post em up! you've not only got yourself a legend, you got urself a money maker!
It's completely for charity. The photos were taken for the event poster for the annual Make-A-Wish fundraiser, the Celebration Exotic Car Festival. www.celebrationexoticcars.com 100% of the proceeds of the event- and of the sale of the event poster, shirts, etc- are donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants the wishes of children fighting life threatening medical conditions. Since the events inception in 2004, nearly $500,000 has been raised for Make-A-Wish through this event! For me, it's an honor to help these children that have been dealt such a bad hand in life, and to be able to be a part of making their dreams come true. The sale of the event poster alone could grant the wishes of 3-4 children. If you are anywhere near Florida in April, or want to experience 4 days of exotic car heaven, come to Orlando April 16-19!
1. does the car sound just like what it is in the movie? 2. being that i am in Australia, how would i be able to obain these posters? or would that be out of the question? 3. you will let us know when more shots become available? 4. be sure to take a night shot with the lights on 5. that night shot below....the place it was filmed (1900 Glenfair Road, Decatur, GA)....most of it (apart from the rear buildings)....torn down. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=194558&page=5 ....thank god some things can last the test of time...so far... 6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0wgFPE632A 7. unfortunately, being im in Melbourne.....AUSTRALIA (not florida....damn....) it wont be possible....unless a miracle of sorts happen. Well I finally decided to watch the movie today. I haven't seen it in a LOOOOONG Time. Have had the DVD for a few years, but just never got myself to sit down and actually watch it. Your LAMBO is awesome.
i will bet money on it... THERE WAS NO REPLICA/TWIN/STUNT DOUBLE for this Countach. there was ONE and ONLY ONE.
IF ANYTHING, if its the replica from SPEED ZONE, then yes, that we can all agree to. but im really sure countach kit cars were not around during that time.
I am still not sleeping well, out of excitement! Work on the car has already begun, and I need to thank some people here: -Monte Patterson of Ultimate Lamborghini. Monte was the person that first put me in touch with Ron Rice. Without Monte, this deal would not have happened. Monte is a fantastic guy, a true enthusiast and great friend. -Tony Ieradi, who taught me so much about the Countach, and was so helpful when I bought my lo-body #1121152 out of France. Tony is a close friend, and we have spoken for countless hours about the Cannonball car. He very graciously backed away from the car when he learned how passionately I wanted it. Tony is now helping me greatly as we start the restoration process. Tony's work is amazing, and he is incredibly detail oriented and knowledgeable. -My parents. Yup, getting me that model Cannonball Run Countach more than 25 years ago added fuel to the fire. I would also like to thank the many people on this forum that have posted their congratulations and well wishes. The car will soon be looking like new, and it ill be shown and driven, not tucked away for another 30 years! Jeff
Jeff: As we spoke, news from my movie producer friend in Bel Air details how the original cast & crew were put together, and the distinct possibility that the original car will be asked to make an appearance in an upcoming sequel!
disagree. in my mind at least, both are equally as important/cool etc etc. iirc from the CT thread the chassis number of the car in Cannonball 2 isnt currently known (i may be wrong)
Forgot to mention: the Cannonball 2 Countach (a Series 3 LP400S) was purchased post-movie by one John Schneider and kept in his Santa Barbara based car collection. Him of 'Dukes of Hazzard' fame... I believe the chassis number is known.
ah yes... they dont make em like they used to. these days, its all "Party Girl" and Paris Hilton clones out there. fake tans, straight hair, big sun glasses, and "SMS LOLS ROCKZ FACEBOOK YOURBOOK MYBOOK MYSPACE YOURSPACE" bull**** = POSERS.
Well im only speaking personally of course but Jeff's car (how does that sound Jeff? something you may never get used too!) was not just another Countach it was THE car that made an awfull lot of us, not only aware of the Countach but Lamborghini itself! So the feeling of intense awe only happened with Cannonball 1. By the time of Cannonball 2 whilst still adoring the Countach i knew what it was, and you can only ever make one first impression, and for me that impression was made by Jeff's Cannonball 1 Countach.
John Schneider? What other cars does he have in SB? I've never seen his Countach before... probably because its the one from Cannonball 2 and that's not something most people would drive everyday.
