Jeff: Well done and I'm glad it all worked out. Congratulations! Im honored to have been able to help with this iconic car. Seasons Greetings and on to a better 2010!
Not that it will happen, but I do have dibs! Jeff, I'm glad you're happy with the car, it was a dream we both shared and I'm honored to be the restorer of record, enjoy it! Best regards, Tony Ierardi
Car looks AMAZING! Have fun with it! Is that Cannonball Run movie poster a "custom"? Every one I've seen has a red car. Not black. Ron
Jeff thrilled for you mate, couldnt be in better hands. Enjoy her! dont forget to play that tune i sent you whilst out driving
A movie should be made, Dumb and Dumber in the Cannonball Run. About 2 idiots trying to drive exotic cars in the Cannonball.
Yes, that is Ron Rice, founder of Hawaiian Tropic He bought the Cannonball car during filming, and owned it from 1981-2009 when I bought it from him
so have you been taking it out much? have people been able to recognise it? apart from the exotic car community.
I'm not sure Jeff comes on here any more, its been a loooong time since i've seen him post, but Tony is around. Tony is Jeff still on here?? let him know we hope hes ok and would like to see him post, if hes got the time.
I do not believe it has been resprayed. The paint has been given a polish, but that's it. If you go to the Countach/Ultimate thread and hit up posts #7455 and #7479 you'll see the Cannonball car as it appeared at Tony's shop in September, when it was there for some A/C work.
That was what we did in 09' since then the car has had a full new paint job Ken knows this because his car is at my shop.

KYOSHO , one of the finest manufacturers in die cast scale models has released their 2011 new models line up which includes the following : 08329BK - Lamborghini Countach S - Black - 12 Exhaust Pipes 08328BK - Lamborghini Countach S - Black with Front Wing (US Edition) I guess they are inspired in Jeff's car . I hope Jeff chimes in and let us know something else
Wait, so you have to buy two models so you can have a black Countach with front wing and 12 exhaust tips? LAME.
I had a long international flight and watched the three 'Smokey and The Bandit' movies back to back. I saw all these when I was a kid, and it was neat to see them all these years later. I learned the Cannonball Countach was in one of these movies! I didn't realize it, but it had a cameo in Smokey and the Bandit 3 toward the end of the movie. I will post a picture of it when I figure out how to make a jpeg out of the video. I also noticed that the Hawaiian Tropic trailer also appeared in the Smokey and The Bandit 2 and 3, so it appears that company was a sponsor of sorts in the Smokey and the Bandit movies as well as the Cannonball movies. Many of the same actors appear in all the movies...Bradshaw, Delouis, and many others. I didn't realize all these movies were so closely linked besides Burt Reynolds (who wasn't even in Bandit 3).
The restoration is finally complete, new paint and all! Here are some photos of Cannonball at the Boca Raton Concours. The car will be displayed next at the Celebration Exotic Car Festival on April 9 www.celebrationexoticcars.com I still can't belive this is my car! Thanks again to Tony and the guys at Auto Italia for their hard work and dedication to this amazing restoration, as well as George Evans, Joe Sackey, Monte Patterson, Francisco and everyone else that helped make this dream a reality! Wow.. nice to see it on some grass. Tonys' guys do some great work (i ought to know). I remember when i was a kid at car shows they always had small cones and plastic chains around these cars... what ever happened to that idea? It was a good idea. I think i would be too nervous to have THIS car at a show. Happy for you Jeff
