Fantastic Jeff! Love it!! Im glad it ended up with the right kind of owner, and cant wait to take you up on your offer one day. Funnily enough Cannonball was on terrestrial telly here the other night, had not seen it in a good few years.
I heard that the "dumb & dumber" red diablo is in Scottsdale. Is it still owned by Jeff, with the Cannonball Countach? Does Jeff live in Scottsdale?
The D and D car I sold to Jeff a few years back..not sure that it is in Scottsdale however..? As far as I know, he still owns it.
This is supposedly the "Dumb & Dumber" car at Supercar Specialists in Scottsdale. Photo taken about 2 weeks ago. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Uh oh, I better go out and check my garage! Yup, still there! I still own the car and it is comfortably in my garage here in Florida. There are a lot of guys that claim to own Cannonball also, some are even convinced that the movie car was a replica LOL Here are the Cannonball and Dumb & Dumber car here in Celebration: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very very cool to have this particulair Countach. What a beauty!!! Maybe its a nice idea for the film industry to make a new Canonbull Run film with the Murcielago LP640SV. Just a modern version of the original. Gr. Xander
Here is a music video that used the Cannonball Countach (the car show up about 1:18 into the video) (and some good looking girls) http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1nl6a_rob-n-raz-ft-d-flex-take-a-ride_music
Just found this thread...I can clearly remember seeing this car, in this movie for the first time. I must have been about 6 years old. As soon as I seen it I asked my dad what kind of car it was and he replied "I think its a Lamborghini" WOW! I've been captivated ever since!! Very nice to see that this car is in good hands... I'm a bit surprised that nobody has mentioned that this car was originally purchased to run in the real canonball run race, and may quite well be the very reason it (the race) wasn't run again! If you haven't read the book, I highly recommend it. Hard to believe that much of what happened in the movie actually happened for real! I think the book offers better info than the dvd commentary ..definitely a good book for car nuts
Another convert to The Church Of Countach. Testify brother! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eU8j4MeJ4I[/ame]
Nice garage!! The red countach is a QV? no marks on the floor from the tyres? Great story indeed! I would love to hear that cannonball car with its special 12 tips exhaust you have to promese to upload a short movie on youtube next time you take it out for a ride!!
Wauw i cant believe this car is still around and in brand new shape too! After seeing the movie in the 80s and hearing it go off in the intro, jeez that imagine still remains. Congrats on the ride and the whole collection, beautiful. btw, is that front spoiler a dealeraccesoiry or was it custom made?
few 400S cars had this spoiler (as a US "front bumper") as well the thin boomerang bumper (you can see it still on the cannonball movie car) lamborghini USA put these on Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I never realized that the movie car had a 12-tip exhaust. I own the DVD and never realized that. I guess there are no dead-on shots of the rear of the car? It looks horrible, but it sure sounded good in the movie!
So since I´m also like many others very much into this car and it´s history,I´m so glad to see the many shots of it from various angles and info. This will be most helpfull, since I´m racing with slotcars as a hobby with many other guys. One of them have created a event which should be in Februar 2016. The theme for the slotcar race is Movie-and-tv-series cars. So every person should compete with a car from either movies or tv-series of own choice. When I saw this event guess what car popped in mind as the first ? All cars must be build from plastic kits and also in scale 1/24. Since I live i Denmark ,Scandinavia then plastic kist are quite expensive to order from eg. USA due to taxes, toll, shipment etc. So i was nearly given the idea up to participate with a Lambo, until on holidays in Denmark I walked into a store with all kinds of stuff. And there it was...a Tamiya 1/24 Scale Lamborghini Countach LP500s plastic kit !! http://mfpilot.com/ebaypics/TAM24306Lambo_wm.jpg Grabbed it faster than the Lambo outruns the policecar in the movie and bought it. So now it´s going to be converted to the car for the Movie slotcar race. I have to make some customs things myself, but that´s only much more fun I have to create: US frontbumper and add "lights" to it The custom 12 rear pipes Finding 2 female 1/24 scaled drivers Painting it black since the body is red plastic Try to create the white phone. Create decals for license plate and Hawaiian Trophy sign. So I was really hoping for that owner JEFF512TR would see this post and could take pictures of license plate and Hawaiian Trophy sign on the back. That would BE AWESOME and a fantastic honour !!!! The slotcar race will have a Conqours D´Elegance competition,so ofcourse the more detailed the car is,the better chance for winning. I will also upload pictures of the progress in honouring the Cannonball Lambo.
