Honda 599 or the SV650S? In your opinion which would be a better bike? Better for a beginner, etc?

Thanks for the help guys. Can anyone tell me the difference between the 650S and the 650? I know the front of the S is more sleek, which is what I like. Also I would wait until the spring or summer to purchase, otherwise I'd look into the R6.

650 is more comfy and a better all around bike.

650 is setup more for comfort and the 650s is more for speed. The handle bars are different, the s has clip-ons (much lower). I believe the shocks are setup stiffer on the s as well but I'm not sure. Having said all that don't think the 650 is a slouch, I have a buddy who had one for 3 years and he loved it.

Well what I would like is something with the comfort and well rounded performance of the 650, from what I'v heard of it, but with the sleekness of the S. I'v sat on the 650 but never the S. I know there is an SV1000S over at the shop I go to sometimes. Maybe I'll go over there tommorow and sit on it to see if I like it or not.
