    I recently purchased my first Ferrari (81 GTSi), in pretty good shape with just a few minor issues. My biggest right now is that the turn signals won't work, and I can't get it inspected, titled, driven.... until I figure it out. The hazzards work fine, flashing all 4 lights. I'm guessing the problem is in the steering column, but I wanted to see if y'all think it could be something else. I started taking the steering column apart, but I don't have a tool to remove the nut behind the steering wheel (~1" nut with 4 divots). Any help would be appreciated.

    The tool to remove can be purchased for @$90 or you can make one yourself. Search steering wheel tool and you can find directions. Before you start pulling apart your steering column switch, I would first check your contacts with a meter. Make sure you are not getting power to the points of contact first. The column switch can be rebuilt be Ubotanium on this board or you can purchase a new switch for $$$.
    I just picked up a '77 and the first thing I did was replace the fuse blocks with Birdman's upgrade. You would be surprised how many problems start there.

    You can make that tool with the correct size socket and a grinding wheel. I saw it on FChat and I did it myself it was pretty easy. When I had that problem it was actually in the emergency flasher switch not the steering column. Emergency flasher work but not the blinkers. I fiddled with the emergency flasher switch a bit and they started working. Similarly I thought my windshield wipers were broken, fiddled with the speed switch and the wipers started working again. Both problems occurred together so read the electrical diagram carefully. For electrical problems ask Paul_308. If you need the parts on the steering column fixed get in touch with Verell.     If neither side blinker works this may not help but before removing the column and switch, try spraying electrical contact cleaner where the stalk goes into the switch, mine was intermittent once and a quick spray fixed it. (only one side wasn't working though)
    I bought my cleaner at Radio Shack.
    Be sure to install Birdman's fuseblocks too, they solve 90% of 308 electrical problems. For now, just check the fuses in place, with a voltmeter.

    Thanks to the posts here, I focused on the hazard switch. I noticed if I put the hazards halfway on, I could get the turn signals to work. So I pulled the switch and polished the innards. It also helped to have the electrical diagram to help me figure out how this crazy circuit works. It did take me almost an hour to figure out how to get the sucker back together. Anyway, it's all fixed now and I can finally get my baby on the road. Thanks a bunch!
