    I cant figure this one out. Anyone heard of it? Pls advise the answer....

    3 MEN GO INTO A MOTEL. THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK SAID THE ROOM IS $30, SO
    EACH MAN PAID $10 AND WENT TO THE ROOM.

    A WHILE LATER THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK REALIZED THE ROOM WAS ONLY $25, SO
    HE SENT THE BELLBOY TO THE 3 GUYS' ROOM WITH $5.

    ON THE WAY, THE BELLBOY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SPLIT $5 EVENLY
    BETWEEN 3 MEN, SO HE GAVE EACH MAN A $1 AND KEPT THE OTHER $2 FOR
    HIMSELF.

    THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID $9 FOR THE ROOM, WHICH IS A TOTAL OF
    $27, ADD THE $2 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = $29.

    WHERE IS THE OTHER DOLLAR?

    Kinda reminds me of "figure dont lie, but liars can figure......"

    You have to figure the money backwards to arrive at the answer.

    The total cost of the room was $25, so forget the $30 because it's now irrelevant. Each man paid out $9 and the bell boy kept $2. $27 minus $2 equals the $25 that the room cost.

    Semantics. There was really a minimum of $38.00 in play here. Steps -

    a) men have $10 each, or $30. Clerk must have $5, Bellboy must have $3
    b men now each broke, Clerk now has $35, Bellboy still has his three ones.
    c) men still broke. Clerk now has the $30, Bellboy now has $8.
    d) men now have $3, one each, Clerk still has his $30, Bellboy now has $5.

    Net gains/losses - men, down $27. Clerk, up by $25, Bellboy up by $2.

    What I want to know is what these three birds are doing in a motel room in the middle of the day?

    I think you need to be more concerned about who your daughter is hanging out with. Eww, 30 dollars a night, now that is scary.

    Thanks, guys/gals. Yup, wife figured it out 3 minutes after I posted it......women....sheeesh. Im glad we had some fun with it. I got a few laughs.

    Good thing I changed major from accounting to Chem........LOL
