    Non moving window...........so time to clean out the hardened goop. The window is up and will only lower about 1/2 inch before stopping. Tried to use the emergency crank handle but no go. Any ideas why the thing won't go down, and does it need to be down to take out the motor? 1983 308.

    Do a search in this forum for "308 electric windows"; there is a lot of existing information. In general to service the motor, cable, and pulleys , the window glass needs to be all the way up.

    Before taking the entire thing apart to service the motor and chisel out the old grease. Try a new switch and relay. Cheap and easy. you never know.
