    Hi all,

    1978 308 GTS

I have read a lot of threads but I can't see one describing how to get the glass out of the door. I am rebuilding the motor/cable part (that all comes out fine) but I need to get the glass out to remove the upper left pulley on the RH door. It is up against the glass and I need to replace it. I have tried to remove the right channel that the window slides in but it interferes with the glass too so I can't slide it up and out.

    Who knows the trick?

    Thanks for any help,

    -Rjay

I figured it out finally. I had to drill out a rivet on the top right of the door where the rubber strip was attached. The right side channel then comes out followed by the window.

I'm glad you figured it out. I know exactly which roller that you're talking about.
I was in my doors last week. Look at the forward most lower roller, I had to get that one out. I didn't remove the left track either but it would have been 1000x easier if I had. The cable had come off of that roller.
I sure wish Ferrari had used a simple, "Proven" sizzors type of window regulator instead.(perfected decades earlier)

    Steve,

You are right, a scissors would probably be quite a bit more reliable. I have to string new cable because the old was beginning to fray. While I'm in there, I pulled the lock for cleaning. I couldn't even see how it worked until I cleaned it. I know all you guys like pics...

Wow- great job cleaning the lock! Now I feel I should have done that, I just lubed everything on mine.
Ferrari even makes a door lock look complicated.
