As much as the 360 makes more sense to own...it is more reliable(doesn't require engine out), more modern, faster, has more room for someone of my size (6'3" 220lbs.), and is a heck of a bargain right now....

I just can't take my eyes off of the 355...and if I hear one going down the street it ignites literal lust in me. Classic, timeless design with lines that make me melt. Small, compact, loves the high revs...my Lord. True definition of a pocket rocket.

If I can fit in the 355...this will be my first Ferrari...

Anyone else find themselves in a similar situation?

side note: it will be some time before I could afford either :)

P.S. This is typically the first model section of the forum I visit in hopes of someone's new pictures.

What you speak of is exactly why I bought an F355! I think the 355 is the best of both worlds :). It has classic ferrari styling and was actually designed by a Pininfarina family member!! It has the same engine as the 360 save for variable exhaust cam timing and 1mm shorter crank stroke. IEven though it is a smaller car, I fit plenty well into my F355 spider though I am only 6' 185lbs. When I was drove my friends 512TR, my head rubbed the headliner and I had to lean toward the center to prevent ducking my head. I say the F355 all the way :D :D!!!!

I'm 6'4" and I fit in a 355 just dandy. Knees were up high, but whatever..... long trips were still very comfortable.

No me I am short, but I really wanted a 355, then I started thinking about the engine out.... so I went with a 360. The reason why is the 308 I sold, I owned for just over 16 years. I couldn't see spending $7,000 + or - every 3 to 5 years when I don't really drive my Ferrari that much anyway. Hope this helps.

I used to have a 355 spider. i now own a 360 spider. no regrets. the 355 was a great car, the 360 in my opinion is greater.

No problems fitting for me, I am 6'3" and uumm bigger boned than 220lbs...hehehe... I do have room and love the car. 360 is a great car but will never be a classic. The 355 IS a classic and you won't regret picking one up. I drive mine at least 4-5 days a week and haven't had any real big problems with the car. I have had it for over a year and half and will never get rid of it, just add to the stable of prancing ponies.. Here are a few more pic's to add to the desire, plus an action shot of the car in it's real environment...

Yes the 360 has less issues, it has an alloy chassis and a tad more power. My only reservation,............. which happens to be the premise of the OP's thread....... is.......... the 355 is far better looking than a 360........... IMO ;):D!!!

I didn't know 360's were an engine-in service. That must make the repair bill much lower. Hmmm...

Basically what makes the 360 cheaper in maintenance, yes.

Oh cmon buying a Ferrari is not about rational things such as which car has the least amount of maintenace costs etc! Buy the car that grabs you by the balls and wont let go...simple as that!

No, I think the 355 sound just as good as a 360. Why would you say that? ;-)

Why thank you sir,.... you have impeccable taste in cars....;) :D :D!!!

    +1 :)

BTW, what the 360 saves in engine-out belt service is offset by the trans-out clutch service. ;)

Your answer lies here. Listen to your heart, dont rationalize yourself into a 360 because you will always be looking at the other mans wife..I mean car :) and wondering!!!!

In all seriousness, if you can drive both and buy the one that makes more sence to you. Fit, feel, budget, and so on. If I had the money to own one of every Ferrari made, well, that would be the dream.
