Hi all. Anyone that knows where I can source the vinyl / canvas for the 206 & 246 early L series tool & jack bag? Best regards Peter P.s. The picture is taken from another thread. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I took mine to a few local upholsterers, One had a 95% match (interior is poly instead of cotton) . Had to tweak it, it now looks totally OE. It is a very thick BTW.
Peter, I know a guy who makes them. Had my bags repaired and extras replicated for mine a few months back. I'll email you.
Gents, I got a couple of more tool questions for the experts regarding the 246 L-series configuration: 1. Is the tool bag opening flap located to the right or left side of the tool bag? In the compendium, the flap is on the right side, but I have often seen it opposite (see pictures below). 2. Where is the wheel chock, warning triangle and the bulb case stored in the L-series cars? Input much appreciated. Peter Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Peter, as your L-series is such an early one I guess your Dino still had the 206 GT tool bag (not cloth) Gedore spanners originally... check your jack diameter, 206 GT is smaller than later 246 GT`s, might be you had original the 206 GT jack... Wheel chock under the spare wheel... rest in the trunk...
Thanks Matthias! Interesting point, you raise. I believe the car must have had the "Gedore wrenches" type tool kit, but if the bag was with or without beige cloth on the back side of the small flap I don't know? I know the car is constructed for the very small diameter (ø18 mm) jack insertion pin, the same as for the 206 with the significant different handle as well (More bends). It might therefor be logical that the tool kit bag was same type as for the 206, or is that jumping to conclusion? Best regards Peter
Wouldn't the warning triangle and jack be held against the spare wheel tub with its rubber straps, or did those straps not exist until M-Series?
Nope. The jack is located in a separate bag in the rear trunk. The lead hammer is located in the same bag and also the bulb case I believe. The triangle might just be strapped in the rear trunk drivers side leather strap that also holds the jack back and the tool bag. Matthias correct me if I am wrong. Strangely enough I cannot find any evidence from having had a rubber strap in the front compartment for holding the wheel chock? Best Peter
Peter, no rubber strap in the front compartment sounds correct... as the 206 GT`s didn`t have one either out of my head and your L-series is an early one.... so wheel chock in the trunk too ;-)
I have one of those pouches in fine shape if someone wants to trade for an E series pouch. Has a few patches of black goo on the outside cover which will probably come off with a little effort.
