Can anyone tell me where to look for these. I have searched but can't find printers that print over 66". I am looking around for printers that will go up to 80"x80". I don't know the difference in any of the companys that sell smaller ones so any info on that or what I should be looking for when I am looking at these printers. I want to print photographs, digital art work, and paintings on canvas. Not all are going to be 80" but some will so I need a big printer. I am thinking that its going to cost around 20-25k or more, am I right on that? I found smallers ones for around 11-15k but I have heard some go to around 50,000. Does anyone know about printers and can you clue me on please?

    Hi,

Wow! - 80" is *big*...... I've always been an "Epson man" - I have a (now) old Pro4000 (since replaced by the 4880). Their "Pro11880" goes, as you've noticed to 66" at ~$15,000.

However, my big question is about *volume* - These "high-end" printers are designed to be used pretty much every day - If not, the heads dry up and you'll burn most of your ink cartridges getting 'em clean again - Don't ask how I know this!

Unless you're planning on printing *lots* I would think going to a local pro print shop would be the way to go - You can get a lot of prints for $15K!

I've never come across an inkjet that can print onto canvas - There are a lot of "canvas like" papers that'll give you the same effect, but it's not real canvas.

Good luck - Please keep the "printer nerds" informed on your decision,
    Cheers,
    Ian

Thank you for the information. I was thinking about going the print shop way at first and then go buy one. I didn't know that they would get ruined if not used every day....good info lol. I am still looking around so I will let you know if I find anything.
As far as the canvas I will use the canvas type paper. I didn't know that you couldn't print on to actual canvas. I'm new to this whole thing so there are a few things I don't know actually. Thanks again for the post.
