Does anyone have a capristo exhaust on thier testarossa?? If you do, do you mind posting pics and telling how you feel about the exhaust?

Also does Capristo have the 3 stages of exhausts for the testarossa or is that only for the 360 modena?

    Guy,
thanks but i already have that video saved on my computer and was looking for a video with a testarossa with a CAPRISTO exhaust. The tubi does not sound like anything special but i'll keep in in mind.

i have a F512M same as a testarossa i have heard 2 with tubis on and they sound crap sound good on a 348 but not on a testarossa i had a testarossa years ago with a bell system on it that was great but have a fuchs on the F512M at the moment which in my opinion is loads better than a tubi but might be changing it for a capristo as they are the best tubi dealers tell you that ferrari recomend tubi buts thats bollocks

I too have heard lots of different exhausts on the TR (except, I admit, the Capristo) but on Sunday I heard a 'Northern Stainless' (UK made exhaust) and it was unbelievable. The ground literally shook and it totally drowned out a 355 with Capristo alongside.

The only downside is that I doubt these are available in the US and they don't look that neat (big weld along the top of the box instead of hidden underneath, for example).

One thing to keep in mind is that the upstream components (precats and/or cats) can make a huge difference in the exhaust acoustics of any TR. For a Tubi on a stock US-version TR (with intact precats and cats), "awesome" doesn't leap to mind IMO, but any brand aftermarket silencer on a TR with no precats and no cats (like a GB version) will probably be pretty shocking/outrageous. Just wanted to mention this since you'll get a wide range of reports based on each particular TR's exhaust system configuration.

Not recommending that you go "cat-less", just trying to explain some of the differences that get reported. Since I'm a daily driver, my "value" preference would be for a non-polished stainless steel silencer like the stock system, but just louder; however, I wound up buying a used Tubi. It's better than stock, but on my not-cat-less TR it's just "moderate" noise-wise.

I think i believe you when you said a tubi doesn't sound good on a Testarossa but i have a question for you.
What is the sound difference between the Fuchs and the capristo?? And why exactly are you changing exhausts?
    thanks

Why won't you take out the cat so it becomes louder? Or is this a procedure that devalues the car?

dont know the sound difference as only heard 355/360 with a capristo on as i dont know anybody in the uk with a capristo on a 12 cylinder

also dont have a clue why i am changing but the cats are still on my car and the fuchs and its great

have heard a tubi de-cat on a testarossa and it did nothing for me

but i must say the tubi is very well made and finished off but i am not into polishing exhausts

    Steve,

Nice to see you back on here. Do you have any costs of that exhaust as I want to change mine-was getting one done at work but the guy has left sadly-but I don't like the sound of the Tubi-not tough enough as Steve F says. Need to something to scare people!! Childish I know, but as well all know 12 Cylinders rock ;-) !

    Several reasons:

    1. I live in a community that is so "anti-car", I don't want to give them any excuse to further discriminate against me. (It's amazing how many nutballs live here, who ride their bike to their Govt. job, have a few half-clones of themselves, and then prance around like they are some form of "low-energy-use" saints -- all while others elsewhere are forced to consume more energy and spew out massive amounts of C02 to raise the tax dollars that pay for this little utopia).

    2. We have an emission inspection every 2 years so it's work to swap back and forth.

    3. We have a local noise ordinance, and I like to keep a low profile from the Polizia.

    4. I've already had the ground-pounding muscle car experience (and sometimes lust to go back there), so it's not that high on my list.

Don't get me wrong, a Tubi & cat-equipped TR makes a very nice racket when you're on it -- it just not completely outrageous.

Tubi's on 12 cyclinders don't sound that great, so look like i'm convinced to go with Capristo or fuchs. Now i only need to find some dound files of both.

    Hi Pete,

The owner was 'philg512'. You could pm him. I believe he got a special deal at £650, but did have to fit it himself? I'm not sure what the normal price is?

Thanks for the links. Yeah i went to that site a few days ago and downloaded the video's but i am still undecided. I don't want the MS racing exhaust bc 1. It's very expensive and 2. I believe that is the best exhaust out today and i would want to reserve it for when i get my F40 or F50 in the future.
(the testarossa is a heavy car and if it sounds better then the competition it better be faster then the compeition or i will look like a idiot)

Loved the videos of the TR. I have bee trying to decide which exhaust to get. I really like the sound of this exhaust. Any one else have any experience with MS and which dealer might be the best to deal with?
