I just had a full Capristo system installed on my 458 and got a CEL which said engine control system failure. Fortunately I was in my way to the dealer anyway. Has anyone had a similar issue with a complete Capristo system? That is Headers, Cats, and Exhaust.

I seem to recall a thread on here about voiding factory warranty and exhaust systems where they mentioned the cats triggering a fault but you might want to go back and read through the threads.

The light says that the emission is not ok. This is because of the 230 cell-cats. The dealer has to install the controll-box from Capristo too. This Box simulates a little lower emission, Takes back the reality by some percent. I have it installed too, had the same failure. This just happens at the newest models, 2012 on I think.

But no big problem, install this electronic control-box and enjoy the famos sound!

On other posts it has been stated that when fabspeed re flashes the ecu on 430's that the car runs in open loop and this is how the cel is defeated. Is this what the Capristo box does?

Will the car pass an emission test if the system is configured at "a lower emission".

    Overview (from Capristo Manual)
When you fit a sports exhaust system of Capristo Exhaust Systems GmbH, you will also be fitting a sports catalysator with high flow throughput. A narrow band oxygen sensor (Lambda sensor) is fitted after the catalysator to check the state of the catalysator. Due to the high throughput of exhaust gasses it is possible that the oxygen sensor after the cat. reacts too fast or too much. The ECU of the car is constant monitoring the value of this lambda sensor to determine if the catalysator is still doing its job. If something is not correct, the Check Engine Light will light up in the dashboard.
The Capristo Lambda Simulator is an intelligent microprocessor based device that receives up to four original narrow band oxygen sensor signals, analysis the signal and sends up to four independed dynamically changing and manipulated signal to the ECU. With a correct setup of the device the Check Engine Light will not light up anymore. The behavior of the narrowband oxygen sensor is now simulated the same as in the original exhaust pipe situation!

I will let you know and send you an email as soon as I get an update.

Completely untrue in most US States, this has been widely discussed all over the internet, basically it's up to Ferrari to prove what you did caused further damage to void the cars warranty. Plenty of rice rocketeers and american muscle guys have fought this battle.

I'm sure if you went through this Ferrari wouldn't budge, but legally they have no ground to stand on unless they build a case. I have not heard of such a situation with Ferrari and an owner though.
